Darkglass Electronics DAELM Overview
Distill the essence of dozens of diverse speaker cabinets with Element from Darkglass Electronics, a cab simulation pedal that features over 40 high-quality cab sims. Sporting external IR loading and full USB-C audio interface support, Element is a compact and vital utility for studio or stage applications.
Control is intuitive and precise with three touch-sensitive sliders; one for controlling the blend of the instrument/amp input and backing track (Bluetooth and aux input) and one for controlling each of the two independent headphone outputs. Connections also include two 1/4″ jacks (one for instrument input or speaker output, and one for instrument output or amplifier input) and one balanced XLR DI output with a ground-lift button for connections to pro audio gear like PAs, mixers, and interfaces. With the built-in attenuation switch, you can select a -12 or -30 dB input pad for overly hot signals. Finally, everything can be customized, with even deeper parameter control, through the Darkglass Suite app, available for macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android devices.
Darkglass Suite App With the Darkglass Suite application for desktop and mobile platforms (macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android), you can unlock extra features on the Element, such as two different types of graphic EQs, tube power amp simulations, and access to a growing library of high-quality IR cabinet simulations. The desktop version also enables firmware updates and loading your own 3rd party cabinet simulations. USB-C Audio Interface Record your ideas wherever you are by connecting the Element to your PC or Mac (no drivers required on macOS).The instrument input records on two tracks, one with cabinet simulation and one without any effects.
Recording stereo sources is possible via the aux input. Independent mixes can be sent to the two headphone outputs from your favorite DAW.
