Focal Press Stagecraft Fundamentals Overview
Stagecraft Fundamentals: A Guide and Reference for Theatrical Production from Focal Press is an entry-level guide covering all aspects of basic theatre production, working as both a how-to guide and reference book. The book covers the history of stagecraft, safety precautions, lighting, costumes, scenery, special effects, and career planning, and also provides illustrated color images with step-by-step procedures. The fourth edition features a new Costume Crafts chapter as well as expanded discussion of sound, props, rigging, safety, production management, and projection design. New information is available on digital theatre as well as new end of capture exercises, US/UK standards, and emphasis on diversity and inclusion. Each chapter has exercises, discussion questions, and study words for student review. A companion website offers additional reading and information for download.
